Elaboration, development and analysis of a Geometry task for the 6th year of Elementary School

This study presents a Geometry task developed for 6th year students designed to consolidate the geometric concepts worked in the classroom and promote the active participation of students in groups. Analysis of the Knowledge Quartet (KQ) dimensions revealed that the teacher played a crucial role in transforming mathematical knowledge into an accessible form for students, using examples, analogies and representations. Furthermore, he established connections between mathematical concepts and everyday situations, making learning more relevant. The extension dimension was also evident, as students were challenged to apply concepts creatively in free drawings. This approach can offer a more engaging and meaningful way to teach Geometry, allowing students to explore, discover, and apply concepts in a practical way.
