Professional Learning Opportunities in the Context of Basic Education Mathematics Teacher Education
Keywords:
Mathematics Education, Teaching and Learning Process, Didactic-Pedagogical Methods, Professional LearningAbstract
This article aims to understand how teacher professional learning opportunities have been used by mathematics teacher educators. This is a theoretical essay composed of empirical studies published in the period from 2018 to 2021. The results show that professional learning opportunities are approached from different theoretical perspectives; receive different interpretations since their origin, varying in the ways in which the methodologies of training are organized and how learning opportunities are shared in field experiences and in the construction of professional knowledge. It is concluded that professional learning opportunities included in practice-based training methodologies can contribute to teaching professional development.
