Abstract

The new coronavirus has rapidly and devastatingly spread around the world, prompting the World Health Organization to declare that we are facing a pandemic. The first action to contain its spread was the confinement of human beings in their homes. The virus caused routine changes everywhere. Countless workers develop their work functions from their homes, thousands of students carry out their school activities from their homes and families have had to carry out all domestic work. Digital technologies that, until then, had not occupied a prominent place in formal education, emerged as the solution to carry out remote school activities during the pandemic. In this context, what really challenges teachers, now that the classroom has moved into digital devices? What is the real role of the teacher when students have free access to the Internet during classes? How does the school deal with the lives lost by Covid-19 while addressing school content? Remote school activities seem to demonstrate the exhaustion of a traditional model of education, based on formal content, which still prevails today.
