Focus and Scope

Educação Matemática em Revista – RS (ISSN 1518-8221; e-ISSN 3085-8771) is a continuous publication, open access and free of charge, linked to the Brazilian Society of Mathematics Education – Rio Grande do Sul Regional Section (SBEM-RS).

The journal focuses on the dissemination of studies, research, experiences, and academic reflections in the field of Mathematics Education. It accepts original and unpublished works, written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, in the following categories: scientific articles, experience reports, and academic essays.

Scientific articles may derive from empirical, theoretical, documentary, bibliographic, or literature review research, provided that they present an effective contribution to the field of Mathematics Education. Experience reports must present educational, formative, extension, investigative, or professional experiences relevant to Mathematics Education, articulating contextualized description, theoretical grounding, and critical analysis. Academic essays must develop theoretical, critical, argumentative, or propositional reflection on a topic relevant to Mathematics Education.

All submitted works undergo preliminary editorial evaluation and, when considered aligned with the journal’s scope and guidelines, are forwarded to double-blind peer review, aiming to ensure academic quality, impartiality, and integrity in the editorial process.

The journal does not accept book reviews, communications, interviews, or texts that are not aligned with the scope of Mathematics Education.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public contributes to the democratization of access to academic production.

Submission: Submissions must be made exclusively through the journal’s platform

Template: Use of the official EMR-RS template is mandatory

Mandatory statement: At the time of submission, authors must submit the Statement of Authorship, Originality, Responsibility, Ethics, Transparency, and Licensing
