Thematic Dossier 2026: Teaching Mathematical Contents in Early Childhood Education and the Early Years of Elementary School

Educação Matemática em Revista – RS invites researchers, teachers, and other authors in the field to submit articles for the thematic dossier “Teaching Mathematical Contents in Early Childhood Education and the Early Years of Elementary School.”

The dossier proposal is based on the understanding that research in Mathematics Education focused on children is highly relevant and requires broader academic circulation. In this context, the dossier seeks to bring together studies that contribute to the debate on the teaching of mathematical contents in Early Childhood Education and the early years of Elementary School, especially those related to official curricular policies.

Articles derived from research addressing the following topics will be welcomed:

  • the teaching of specific mathematical contents in Early Childhood Education and the early years of Elementary School;
  • the specific knowledge that teachers need in order to teach these contents;
  • initial and/or continuing teacher education for those who teach Mathematics at these educational levels;
  • assessment processes and practices related to mathematical contents in this context.

  • Final editorial decision: October 21, 2026 to November 5, 2026
  • Editing, final checking, and organization of preprint/publication: November 6, 2026 to November 25, 2026
  • Closing of the issue: December 10, 2026
