O Rummikub

Abstract

This report aims to detail the trajectory of systematization, implementation and evaluation of a work developed as a practical proposal as a curricular component of a subject taken in the fourth semester of the Mathematics degree course. Focusing on the practice of teaching mathematics through games, the planning and game described here are based on the original Rummikub, being an authorial adaptation. Therefore, this report will provide a detailed view of the path taken, from idealization to writing, through the afflictions, uncertainties and discoveries experienced along the way. It also provides a description of the socialization of work, inspired along the lines of a Mathematics Fair, which was extremely valuable for the learning of those involved, due to the opportunistic assessment processes. As main results, we highlight the encouragement of teachers and their feedback, from evaluators and from our peers as motivators, promoting reflections and possibilities until then unforeseen.
